Port Town is also home to the F-Zero Grand Prix that takes place every year. But the city's most famous pair of gems happens to be a hidden one that is tightly secured: a pair of pilots that live on a fortress archipelago; a pair of deadly bounty hunters who have their own method of order - their own set of laws...

And actually, this image, though not exactly as you see it now, will be in the comic. So think of it as a preview of sorts... The way I do my comic is highly inefficient, but it allows me to work on it with better detail, and I can scale it down later... So, expect the final project file to be several gigabytes big due to the amount of images I work on... x.x;;;
Puma was arguing earlier about how Jessie was taller in the initial sketches, so I had to scale her down once I had her all drawn out and finalized before starting the inks. And yes, she has no wings on this one since we agreed that if she had them 'uncloaked', the image would get too busy and it wouldn't look as nice.
Each piece was separately done.
Jessie took about... 5 hours total over the span of two weeks? Yeah, somewhere around there. This was due to me cleaning the house.
Falcon took about 6 hours total over the span of 4 weeks (Don't ask... I got lazy with the inking and was working on sketches... XD Ended up finishing him about 3 days before my departure... XDDDDDDDDD)
As for the cityscape, that took about 8 hours... Why? I really don't know. Maybe because it's the first I've done something like that... o.o;;;
In terms of progress, I had to stop it a bit with the inking and any CGing since it's hard to do when I don't have my full keyboard with me (the one with my artist presets done and over nifty functions). But, I am working on some sketches here and there.
Jessie's Myotis Stealth Suit is basically in it's final, so what you saw in the teaser cover is what will make up for her suit, though her headset is interchangeable with the one that Night Shroud has, you know, the one with the green visor? Yeah, that one. Couldn't give up on that one somehow... XD As for her jumpsuit, it's pretty much the same, though her belt sort of sports some elements that the brother has
For Falcon, I took some attributes from SSBB since I wanted him to look a bit more... Up-to-date, if you will, but at the same time, still have some of the original elements as well as some of my own.
Shadow Empress is also sort of in the works, though it's hard designing her costume without making her look too clashy or utterly dumb. I'll need to put up sketches of her when I head back to the states. Even Puma's having a hard time... x.x
Bart, Janice (Or was it Janine?), and Tikal (Bart's pet cat who is so uberly adorable XD) are in drafting stages. I sort of made them too young in the initial sketches *Dies* These three are the owners/workers at the Falcon House Cafe, an establishment I borrowed from F-Zero: Falcon Densetsu.
Dr. Tobias and his daughter, Nishi (I think...), are also being drafted, as well as Weapons Master Siam Miscues, and a few members of High Orbit (Though Puma already claimed Jack Levin and Lucy Liberty, so I can't touch those unless she asks me for input...).
Ok, enough about that. This is getting too long... XD

Many thanks to for the Cityscape Tutorial. Without it, I'd have a really bad-looking Port Town Cityscape to work with... x.x;;;
Well, the look does have that retro feel to it. But I was talking about the lack of F-Zero games and thinking about the original character concepts back in 2003. Good times!
